PhotoFunia Discovered

This is jun fun! Although I am obsessed with the MadHatter even though the movie has been around for months now, I'm sure it has nothing to do with my own sanity .... hehehe

Published! Well, in a digi mag anyway :P

After submitting a few different items since Scrapbook News and Review began in earnest early this year, an ATC I made for a swap at Alphastamps was published.  You can find the magazine linked but you have to subscribe to SNR in order to see it in the magazine. I've posted a copy here to save you the trouble. Oh shoot, they asked me not to post it for 30 days, and to remove it from anywhere it is posted. The usual rules. It will be up in December so come back and take a look then if you don't subscribe.

Well, thanks so much for looking. It's been a while since I've had anything recognized like this so it feels pretty good. I am proud to say I know ladies who have been published in major magazines, and maybe someday for me, but for now, hey, this is cool.

Products used: Tim Holtz:  Negative film strip, Stickles, gears, mini paper clips, Distressed Ink in Rose, Mini-Stapler and staples; K & Co. journaling mat, pink dresden, metal paper corners (for crown parts), Ranger Perfect Pearls, quilters pin for steering 'wheel'

My Poor Neglected Steampunk Persona

I am sad that I haven't been able to dedicate time to this curious design style. I've just gotten some super cool steampunk kits and elements from Beth Rimmer of Digitals as well as Royanna et. al. at Divine Digital so I can't wait to put out a few pages this month. Be watching ...

Terrific Swap at AlphaStamps

The Steampunk ATC swap at AlphaStamps was for me a great introduction to the concept of Steampunk. It expanded my horizons and I am hooked (pun for Steampunkers) with plans to make mixed-media works of this genre. Now I just need to learn welding.

I chose one image from flickr to use in each ATC creating an additional challenge for myself. Flickr Photostream by

Steampunk!

My new venture ~ I'm sure will fit into my final goal of mixed-media creations. I tend to find a project which becomes the focus or goal for a period of time. Mixed-media works well as I continue to learn about various types of art creation. Building one on the next leads to fruition. So a general goal is easier to achieve than goals with specifications. For me, just like Christmas shopping. 3 dimensional works are so full of possibilities, inclusion is not limited. The challenge is great and expansive. New techniques are required which means more is more. Flo Paint will make a wonderful base to build on. Definitive definition hunt is on.
